Jaguars Not Trying to Look Back as They Adjust to Being in 1st Place

Maurice Jones-Drew isn't thinking about the future. Not past the next few days, anyway.

And the past?

Well, around the Jacksonville Jaguars in recent days the past gets has been brought up enough that the Pro Bowl running back and his teammates don't much need to think about that.

What matters to Jones-Drew and the Jaguars isn't what happened the last time they finished 7-5, or that they haven't won a division title in more than a decade. It's not even that they're in first place -- a place they haven't been so late in the season in a long, long time.

This year, thinking about such things isn't their way.

What matters is the now.

"We understand that we've got to take it one game at a time," said Jones-Drew, whose recent return to his status as one of the NFL's elite running backs is but one reason the Jaguars have emerged as perhaps the league's most surprising playoff contender.
